CASETA Symposium: April 27-29, 2018 in San Antonio

The 16th Annual CASETA (Center for the Advancement and Study of Early Texas Art) Symposium is to be held at the Witte Museum in San Antonio, TX April 27-29, 2018. DDFA will participate in the Art Fair to take place simultaneously at the event.

Symposium speakers this year are to include: Francine Carraro, Ph.D. Director of the Wichita Falls Museum of Art; Amy Fulkerson, Chief Curator of the Witte Museum; Kelly Donahue-Wallace, Ph.D., Prof. of Art History at University of North Texas; Eleanor J. Harvey, Ph.D., Senior Curator of the Smithsonian American Art Museum; Mark Thistlewhaite, Ph.D., Chair of Art History at Texas Christian Univeristy; Amy Von Lintel, Ph.D. Prof. of Fine Arts at West Texas A&M University; Sarah Beth Wilson, Curator of Exhibitions & Collections at Museum of Southeast Texas; and a Panel discussion moterated by Ron Tyler, Ph.D. on Controversial Images in Early Texas Art featuring Victoria Cummins, Ph.D, Prof. of History at Austin College in Sherman; Eleanor J. Harvey, Ph.D; and Paul A. Ramos, Ph.D, Associate Prof. of History at Univ. of Houston.
